Chicago is the birthplace of American handwriting analysis, or graphology. One of the most significant figures in the development of graphology in the U.S. was Milton N. Bunker, who founded the American Grapho Analysis Society (AGAS) in Chicago in 1929. Bunker’s system, which he called “graphoanalysis,” combined French and German techniques in a standardized, scientific approach that evaluated measurable traits—strokes, slants, pressure, spacing—to reveal personality characteristics and behavioral tendencies. Bunker's organization became the largest graphoanalysis organization in the United States.
My name is Mister Vibe and I use graphoanalysis and other methodology to evaluate handwriting in the Chicago area. Just as writing is a symbol of reality, the way we write is a representation of ourselves. Handwriting analysis is an examination of the metaphors expressed in our control of the writing instrument. It is the interpretation of what the gestures made on paper say about our personality. Handwriting reflects our vision of the world. It's a frozen gesture, a snapshot of the mood you're in at the time.
Besides private consultations, handwriting analysis is a fascinating addition to any event. People have heard about it and are curious to experience it for themselves. What's more, I can perform it as an interactive group activity, making it more fun. Here's how it's done: people cursively write a sample sentence on a pad of paper that contains many key elements for analysis and sign their names. (I supply the pads of paper and pens.) I then tell them what their writing says about their personality according to handwriting analysis principles. The length of the analysis is flexible.
Be aware, that there are magicians who call themselves mentalists or mystery entertainers (to avoid the stigma of being a magician) who use handwriting analysis to appear to have supernatural "powers" through trickery.
For example, a magician/mentalist faking handwriting analysis will hand out cards to a group of people to write a sample on. He collects the cards, mixes them up and then hands the correct card to each individual after analyzing the characteristics he sees in their handwriting.
The secret to this amazing ability is that the magician knows who he gave each card to by a subtle mark on it. Analyzing handwriting has absolutely nothing to do with it. It's just a trick to feed the magician's ego.
What’s more, magicians who want to play mind reader will have people write a personal question on one side of a card, fold it in half and write their name on the other side. Then, after slyly peeking at the question, the magician will answer it by pretending he can divine it through a fake analysis of their signature. Ta-da!
I won't insult your intelligence with such chicanery. I am NOT a magician and have never been one. I've analyzed thousands of handwriting samples authentically with no trickery involved.
